Why They Never They Built The “Third Temple”, Christians Argument For Not Building It According To Jesus Christ?
Christians argue that a physical Third Temple is unnecessary and theologically invalid because Jesus Christ fulfilled the temple’s purpose through his death and resurrection. The New Testament teaches that Jesus is the true Temple (John 2:19–21) and the final sacrifice, rendering the Old Testament sacrificial system obsolete (Hebrews 10).
Key arguments against building a Third Temple include:
- Fulfillment of Sacrifice: Jesus’ death tore the temple veil, signifying that his blood atoned for all sins once and for all, making further animal sacrifices blasphemous and unnecessary (Hebrews 9–10; Mark 15:38).
- Spiritual Temple: Believers and the Church are now considered God’s temple where the Holy Spirit dwells, replacing the need for a physical structure in Jerusalem (1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 2:21–22).
- Historical Impossibility for Jesus: Jesus could not have built a Third Temple because the Second Temple was still standing during his ministry; it was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD, decades after his crucifixion.
- Eschatological Rejection: Many Christians view the idea of a future physical temple as a modern invention (dispensationalism) that contradicts the New Covenant, arguing that Revelation 21:22 describes the New Jerusalem having no temple because God and the Lamb are its temple.
They Tried To Build A ‘Third Temple’, THEN This Happened video review
The video “They Tried To Build A ‘Third Temple’, THEN This Happened” is a YouTube video (published around February 2026) that covers the historical attempt to rebuild the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. Based on the available description, it focuses on the moment a group affiliated with Roman Emperor Julian (r. 361–363 CE) tried to resume construction of a Third Temple on the Temple Mount.
What actually happened: The project was abruptly halted. Historical sources (including Eusebius and Lactantius) report that bolts of fire erupted from the ground, scorching workers and the site, and the effort was further disrupted by the 363 CE Galilee earthquake and Julian’s death in battle against the Persians shortly after. Christian historians of the era framed it as divine intervention; modern accounts attribute it to a seismic event (possibly a gas explosion triggered by the earthquake).
I wasn’t able to find a detailed third-party review of this specific video, so I can’t speak to its production quality, accuracy, or framing beyond the topic it covers. If you’d like, I can look for more context on the Julian temple-building attempt itself.
What Does The KJV Bible Say?
The overarching Christian argument against the necessity of building a physical Third Temple centers on a monumental paradigm shift: Jesus Christ replaced the physical temple with His own body, and subsequently, with the Church (the bodies of believers).
According to mainstream Christian theology, building a physical temple for animal sacrifices contradicts the finished work of Jesus Christ, who offered Himself as the ultimate, permanent sacrifice.
10 Scriptural Arguments Against Rebuilding the Temple (KJV)
| # | Theological Argument | Core King James Version (KJV) Scripture Verse | Explanation & Christian Application |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Temple of His Body | John 2:19-21 – “Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up… But he spake of the temple of his body.” | Jesus explicitly shifts the definition of “the temple” from Herod’s stone building to His own physical and resurrected body. |
| 2 | Believers as the Temple | 1 Corinthians 3:16 – “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” | The Holy Spirit indwells the Church, making human believers the true, living temple, rendering physical structures redundant. |
| 3 | God Dwells Beyond Stone | Acts 7:48 – “Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet…” | Stephen argues before the Sanhedrin that limiting God’s presence to a physical, human-built sanctuary misunderstands His nature. |
| 4 | Sacrifices are Abolished | Hebrews 10:11-12 – “And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices… But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.” | A rebuilt temple would require animal sacrifices. Doing so denies the absolute sufficiency of Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice. |
| 5 | The Veil is Torn Permanently | Matthew 27:51 – “And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;” | God tearing the temple veil signifies that the Old Covenant partition between God and man was permanently dissolved by Christ’s death. |
| 6 | Desolation of the Old Building | Matthew 23:38 – “Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.” | Jesus pronounces historical judgment on the physical temple structure, switching ownership from “My house” to “your house.” |
| 7 | Worship in Spirit and Truth | John 4:21 – “Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.” | Jesus tells the Samaritan woman that true worship is no longer localized or bound to a specific physical geographic sanctuary. |
| 8 | The True Heavenly Sanctuary | Hebrews 8:1-2 – “…We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.” | Christ serves in a heavenly, spiritual tabernacle. Earthly temples are mere temporal shadows of this ultimate reality. |
| 9 | The Cornerstone of a Spiritual House | 1 Peter 2:5 – “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” | Believers are individual “living stones” constructing a non-physical, worldwide spiritual house. |
| 10 | No Temple in Eternal Glory | Revelation 21:22 – “And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.” | In the final fulfillment of God’s kingdom, there is completely no physical temple because God and Jesus are the sanctuary. |
Analytical Perspectives & Analytical Reports
Myers-Briggs (MBTI) Analyst Report (Systemic Perspective)
- The Rational Framework (NT / “The Architects”): From an INTJ/INTP structural analysis, building a Third Temple introduces a massive logical contradiction into the system of Christian theology. If the historical objective of the Temple was a mechanism to process human sin via proxy (sacrifices), and if Jesus satisfies that systemic requirement, then reconstructing a physical temple introduces systemic redundancy.
- The Idealist Framework (NF / “The Advocates”): From an INFJ/ENFP lens, focusing on physical architecture degrades the deeply intimate, internal paradigm shift of the New Covenant. The true temple must be psychological, ethical, and spiritual. Reverting to brick and mortar is viewed as a developmental regression in humanity’s relationship with the Divine.
John MacArthur Analyst Report (Dispensational View)
- Premillennial Distinction: John MacArthur teaches that any attempt by Jewish people or global forces to rebuild a physical Third Temple in the present age is textually expected in prophecy, but spiritually illegitimate for the Church.
- The Tribulation Temple: MacArthur points out that while a physical Third Temple will likely be built, it will be desecrated by the Antichrist (the “Abomination of Desolation”). Therefore, Christians should not support its construction. It is a structure born out of a rejection of Jesus, whereas the true spiritual temple remains the Church.
Paul Washer Analyst Report (Heart & Holiness View)
- Sacrilege Against Grace: Paul Washer addresses this from a fiercely Christocentric, evangelical perspective. To Washer, suggesting that a physical altar needs to be rebuilt to appease God with the blood of bulls and goats is an insult to the cross of Christ.
- The Internalized Temple: Washer focuses heavily on personal holiness and regeneration. The Christian argument against the temple is that God has chosen a far more terrifyingly beautiful sanctuary: the human heart. Rebuilding a physical temple shifts the focus from heart-reformation to outward, dead religious rituals.
Greg Schad Analyst Report (Pastoral & Psychological Integration)
- The Relational Shift: Greg Schad, a Christian therapist and executive director at Crossroads Counseling Group, approaches theology through the lens of emotional and spiritual health. From a pastoral-counseling viewpoint, a physical temple represents a “distant” or structural access point to God.
- Anxiety vs. Presence: Schad’s analytical framework suggests that Jesus’ removal of the physical temple relieves the spiritual anxiety of distance. If your body is the temple, God’s presence is immediate, therapeutic, and internal. Looking to an external building for validation or spiritual closeness is a manifestation of religious codependency rather than the freedom found in Christ.
Jordan Peterson Analyst Report (Psychological & Symbolic View)
- The Evolution of the Archetype: Jordan Peterson analyzes religious constructs through psychological archetypes. To Peterson, the Temple represents the “Center of the World” (Axis Mundi)—the physical location where order meets chaos, and where man encounters the highest ideal.
- Individualization of the Divine: Peterson interprets the Christian narrative as a profound psychological evolution: the extraction of the divine spark out of a localized, bureaucratic state building (the Temple) and its placement inside the individual conscience. If the individual is the temple, then every human being bears ultimate moral responsibility. Rebuilding a physical temple is a symbolic regression—an attempt to externalize moral responsibility back onto an institution or a physical place.

This is a major important point about forgiveness
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. -MATTHEW 5:24 KJV
Are You Your Own Worst Enemy?
I would start out by saying what Jesus Christ would want us to do? Pray and how should we pray? The Lord’s Prayer, and how often should we pray? Continually. Why do we use the Lord’s Prayer and not some other? The Lord’s Prayer covers all the areas that is important for our spiritual being.
When we pray the Lords prayer we ask to forgive our enemies, let God’s will be done, the kingdom to come. By praying the Lord’s prayer we let go of many thoughts we have in our head and give them back to God so we can have things revealed to us.
We must overcome resentment in our heart, and in a past video I shared about Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about how resentment can destroy us and we become our own very worst enemy and Jordan goes on to say that we must talk to people what we have resentment toward to overcome that resentment. Other people who lived in the past who talked about this is Jesus Christ and someone who is living now who talks about this daily is Brother Augustine, Dr. John MacArthur, Dr. Charles Stanley, Rev. John Piper and Pastor Paul Washer.
Women are looking for a fathers love
Women are looking for a fathers love. Its important that men understand women are looking for a fathers love and not get screwed. Woman more than anything are looking for a strong spiritual man to lead the future (the family). I think in many YouTube videos on biblical teachings, how young women are being hurt by men that are just looking to get laid instead of doing right and being in Christ and setting a good example of a strong man. We must be in Christ, hate no one, love all, forgave theses we resent, love what is right and support people who are walking with God.
Women need their fathers in their lives to be strong man to be good examples and not BETA men or weak examples of what a man should be. Its important that a man leads the way as Christ leads men, we as man need to fellow Jesus Christ to keep society from going to HELL.
Every day you can see or people watch how some men and women our living in hell without the right spiritual order then you will continue your hellish way according to 2 Peter. You can also find it in Romans. God will give you over to a reprobate mind.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. – Romans 1:28 (KJV)
In Romans 1, Paul refers to something known as a reprobate mind. If you’re not familiar with the term reprobate, the literal definition in the Greek is failing to pass the test, unapproved, counterfeit.

How God Commands Us To Forgive Those Who We Have Resentment Toward.
All of us are tested everyday by our personal internal struggle coming from resentment of what happened earlier in our lives as children typically what our mother did to us, telling how our fathers were not good enough or driving us away from our fathers when we were children. We most go to the people that we have resentment against and forgive them. By forgiving our mothers or whoever we have resentment against, God will forgive us and we can return to the heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It was said if you don’t love everyone then you love no one. People today live like the Old Testament people did. We must forgive and love everyone as God Commanded us to do according to Matthew 22:34-40.
After Reading The Passage I would Recommend Doing A Silent Prayer
Its is said: Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10 King James Version (KJV)

In a world where it is so easy to forget the importance of God, we must remember that He is holy and will not share His glory. America has forgotten this truth and it is time for us to re-examine our relationship with God and recognize that He is the one true God who deserves our full devotion and reverence. We must remember that He will not be taken lightly or ignored, but rather should be honored as the Creator of all things. Only then can we truly experience His love and grace in our lives.
