Glorifying and Enjoying God in Your Strength – Paul Washer

Glorifying and Enjoying God in Your Strength – Paul Washer

Paul Washer emphasizes that glorifying and enjoying God in your strength is rooted in a deep, transformative knowledge of God revealed through Christ in Scripture. He teaches that true strength for Christian living doesn’t come from self-effort but from a right understanding of God’s holiness, love, and glory. This knowledge empowers believers—especially the younger generation—to stand firm amidst spiritual darkness and cultural decline.

Central to Washer’s message is the call to love God with all one’s heart, soul, mind, and strength—the greatest commandment. He stresses that no one has perfectly fulfilled this command, highlighting humanity’s radical depravity and the infinite superiority of Christ, who alone loved God perfectly throughout His life.

The Motivation of Love and the Judgment Seat of Christ

Washer explains that believers are motivated both by the love of Christ and the reality of the judgment seat of Christ (Bema Seat), where all deeds will be evaluated. This dual motivation propels Christians toward holy living—not out of fear of condemnation, but out of desire to please the One who saved them. Our service flows from gratitude, not merit.

He warns against self-affliction or false humility that distracts from God’s glory, asserting that true worship involves presenting our bodies as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1), fully devoted to God’s will.

Strength Through the Knowledge of God

According to Washer, spiritual strength arises from knowing God as He truly is—holy, sovereign, and glorious. This knowledge transforms the believer’s perspective, replacing fear and weakness with awe and boldness. He argues that a shallow view of God leads to weak Christianity, while a majestic vision of God produces resilience, joy, and mission.

In his sermons, Washer often contrasts human frailty with divine greatness, reminding listeners that God delights in using weak people to display His power.

What Does The KJV Bible Say?

Paul Washer, as anchored in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, glorifying and enjoying God with one’s strength is not about self-exaltation, but rather dedicating every ounce of energy and physical capacity to the service and worship of God. Washer emphasizes that our bodies and strength are purchased by Christ and should be used to manifest His glory rather than for self-serving purposes.

10 Examples of Glorifying God with Your Strength (KJV)

  1. Presenting Your Body as a Living Sacrifice (Romans 12:1)
    • Action: Actively dedicating your physical health and strength to God as an act of worship, rather than offering it to worldly pursuits.
    • KJV: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
  2. Honoring God in Your Body (1 Corinthians 6:20)
    • Action: Caring for your body and using it to honor God, recognizing that your strength is not your own, but purchased by Christ.
    • KJV: “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
  3. Doing All Things for God’s Glory (1 Corinthians 10:31)
    • Action: Using your physical energy for daily tasks—eating, drinking, working—with the intention of honoring God.
    • KJV: “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
  4. Serving Others with Your Strength (Galatians 5:13)
    • Action: Utilizing your physical capacity to serve brothers and sisters in love, not just for personal gain.
    • KJV: “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”
  5. Working Diligently as Unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23)
    • Action: Applying maximum physical effort to your work or occupation, viewing God as your true employer.
    • KJV: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
  6. Maintaining Sexual Purity (1 Corinthians 6:18)
    • Action: Protecting your body from immorality, thus keeping your strength dedicated only to God’s design.
    • KJV: “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.”
  7. Using Your Voice to Praise God (Hebrews 13:15)
    • Action: Utilizing your physical vocal strength to offer praise and worship to God, rather than corrupt speech.
    • KJV: “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”
  8. Giving Generously of Your Resources (Proverbs 3:9)
    • Action: Using the money and resources you have gained through your strength to support the church and the poor.
    • KJV: “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.”
  9. Fleeing Youthful Lusts (2 Timothy 2:22)
    • Action: Using your energy to run away from temptation and toward righteousness, avoiding compromising situations.
    • KJV: “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
  10. Being Strong in the Lord’s Power (Ephesians 6:10)
    • Action: Depending on God’s power to fuel your spiritual and physical endurance, rather than relying on self-sufficiency.
    • KJV: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

This is a major important point about forgiveness

Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. -MATTHEW 5:24 KJV

Are You Your Own Worst Enemy?

I would start out by saying what Jesus Christ would want us to do? Pray and how should we pray? The Lord’s Prayer, and how often should we pray? Continually. Why do we use the Lord’s Prayer and not some other? The Lord’s Prayer covers all the areas that is important for our spiritual being.

When we pray the Lords prayer we ask to forgive our enemies, let God’s will be done, the kingdom to come. By praying the Lord’s prayer we let go of many thoughts we have in our head and give them back to God so we can have things revealed to us.

We must overcome resentment in our heart, and in a past video I shared about Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about how resentment can destroy us and we become our own very worst enemy and Jordan goes on to say that we must talk to people what we have resentment toward to overcome that resentment. Other people who lived in the past who talked about this is Jesus Christ and someone who is living now who talks about this daily is Brother Augustine, Dr. John MacArthur, Dr. Charles Stanley, Rev. John Piper and Pastor Paul Washer.

Women are looking for a fathers love

Women are looking for a fathers love. Its important that men understand women are looking for a fathers love and not get screwed. Woman more than anything are looking for a strong spiritual man to lead the future (the family). I think in many YouTube videos on biblical teachings, how young women are being hurt by men that are just looking to get laid instead of doing right and being in Christ and setting a good example of a strong man. We must be in Christ, hate no one, love all, forgave theses we resent, love what is right and support people who are walking with God.

Women need their fathers in their lives to be strong man to be good examples and not BETA men or weak examples of what a man should be. Its important that a man leads the way as Christ leads men, we as man need to fellow Jesus Christ to keep society from going to HELL.

Every day you can see or people watch how some men and women our living in hell without the right spiritual order then you will continue your hellish way according to 2 Peter. You can also find it in Romans. God will give you over to a reprobate mind.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. – Romans 1:28 (KJV)

In Romans 1, Paul refers to something known as a reprobate mind. If you’re not familiar with the term reprobate, the literal definition in the Greek is failing to pass the test, unapproved, counterfeit.

How God Commands Us To Forgive Those Who We Have Resentment Toward.

All of us are tested everyday by our personal internal struggle coming from resentment of what happened earlier in our lives as children typically what our mother did to us, telling how our fathers were not good enough or driving us away from our fathers when we were children. We most go to the people that we have resentment against and forgive them. By forgiving our mothers or whoever we have resentment against, God will forgive us and we can return to the heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It was said if you don’t love everyone then you love no one. People today live like the Old Testament people did. We must forgive and love everyone as God Commanded us to do according to Matthew 22:34-40.

In a world where it is so easy to forget the importance of God, we must remember that He is holy and will not share His glory. America has forgotten this truth and it is time for us to re-examine our relationship with God and recognize that He is the one true God who deserves our full devotion and reverence. We must remember that He will not be taken lightly or ignored, but rather should be honored as the Creator of all things. Only then can we truly experience His love and grace in our lives.
