If Women Tell Men I Can’t Teach You How To Be A Men, Then Are Men And Women Equal?
The assertion that women cannot teach men how to be men is a viewpoint held by some religious complementarians and social commentators, who argue that male headship and distinct gender roles are divinely ordained or biologically rooted. However, this specific claim does not determine whether men and women are equal; rather, it reflects a perspective that equality does not require sameness.
Different Roles vs. Equal Worth
Many theological and philosophical arguments distinguish between equality of value and equality of role. For instance, Christian complementarians argue that while men and women are equal in God’s eyes and share equal dignity, they have different responsibilities in the home and church. In this view, men and women are not “equal” in the sense of being interchangeable, but they are equally human and valuable.
Complementarity vs. Hierarchy
Other perspectives, such as those cited from Plato or modern egalitarians, argue that true equality requires equal opportunity and education. Plato’s famous quote suggests that if women are expected to do the same work as men, they must be taught the same things. Conversely, some social commentators argue that men and women are unique complements rather than equals in function, with each sex having distinct strengths and weaknesses that make direct comparison or role interchangeability “unnatural.”
Conclusion
Whether men and women are considered “equal” depends on the definition used:
- Equal Rights and Dignity: Most modern frameworks affirm that men and women are equal in human rights and moral worth.
- Equal Roles and Abilities: Some traditional or complementarian views reject the idea that men and women are equal in function, arguing that distinct gender roles are essential for social and spiritual order.
- Social Reality: Critics of the “women can’t teach men” claim argue that gender socialization often fails to teach men empathy or respect, suggesting that women can and should educate men on how to treat others, even if they do not define masculinity itself.
Why Can’t Women Teach Men How To Be A Men?
The argument that women cannot teach men how to be men primarily stems from the belief that male identity is defined by a distinct social language rooted in hierarchy, competition, and earned respect, which women are thought to lack intuitive understanding of. Proponents argue that while women excel at relational communication (empathy, connection), they often default to nurturing or emotional approaches that fail to prepare boys for the harsh realities and dominance structures men face.
Key perspectives supporting this view include:
- Distinct Social Languages: According to sources like Hardball for Women, men operate in a world where respect is the currency and is earned through action, strength, and ability rather than affection. Boys need male mentors to teach them how to navigate confrontation, assert dominance, and step down gracefully in competitive environments.
- Role Modeling and Identification: Many argue that boys require male role models to identify with and emulate. Without fathers or male mentors, boys may struggle to form a healthy masculine identity, potentially leading to resentment or poor self-regulation, as women cannot fully model the specific experiences of male socialization.
- Ineffectiveness of Female Instruction: Some contend that when women attempt to teach masculinity, it is often perceived by men as nagging or emasculating, causing boys to reject the advice. This perspective suggests that women can inspire masculinity but cannot effectively teach the mechanics of it.
Conversely, significant counter-arguments exist:
- Individual Character Over Gender: Critics argue that no person can teach another how to be a man or woman; rather, individuals must define their own identity. They assert that a woman with strong ethical character can teach valuable life lessons, just as a man with poor character cannot teach a boy to be a good man.
- Complementary Perspectives: Many believe that both male and female perspectives are necessary for a well-rounded human being. Restricting male guidance to men alone ignores the value of female insight and reinforces rigid gender stereotypes that may be harmful or outdated.
- Theological Nuance: In religious contexts, while some interpretations of 1 Timothy 2:12 prohibit women from teaching men in church, others argue this is a situational restriction rather than a universal ban, and that women have historically taught men through example and private instruction.
Why Keeps Women, Mothers, Moms, From Teaching Their Son’s From Being A Man/Men?
Sociological and criminological data consistently demonstrate that raising young men involves complex structural, financial, and relational dynamics, particularly when a father or positive male role model is absent.
Criminological reports, including data aggregated by the FBI, the U.S. Census Bureau, and organizations like the Institute for Family Studies, highlight how family structure directly correlates with crime rates:
- Violent Crime Demographics: Across overall FBI data, men account for approximately 78.7% of violent crime arrests and 90.3% of known homicide offenders.
- Neighborhood Safety & Single Parenthood: Cities or census tracts with higher rates of single parenthood experience 118% higher violent crime rates and 255% higher homicide rates compared to communities where two-parent families are the norm.
- Juvenile Incarceration: Studies tracking youth in state custody show that roughly 70% to 85% of incarcerated youths grew up in fatherless homes.
Sociologists and family researchers outline several core challenges that single mothers encounter when attempting to guide their sons into manhood:
1. The “Supervision Deficit” and Community Pressures
In a single-parent household, a mother often has to act as the sole economic provider and primary caregiver. This dual burden frequently results in a supervision deficit, leaving adolescent boys more susceptible to peer pressure, gang recruitment, and street culture. Research from the National Office of Justice Programs indicates that the presence of other positive older males in a community can help buffer this absence, but without them, young men often look to delinquent peers to find validation.
2. Economic Disadvantage
Single-mother households are four times more likely to experience poverty than two-parent homes. Poverty limits access to high-quality education, extracurricular mentoring programs, and safe neighborhoods. Criminological consensus notes that socioeconomic distress is a powerful driver of crime, meaning the correlation between single-mother households and youth delinquency is heavily mediated by financial strain.
3. The Lack of Experiential Male Modeling
While mothers can teach moral values, respect, and responsibility, women cannot model the lived, physical experience of navigating male puberty, male social dynamics, or male emotional regulation. When a father is absent, a young man may struggle to define his identity. This vacuum is sometimes filled by exaggerated media portrayals or peer definitions of masculinity that conflate manhood with hyper-aggression, dominance, or risk-taking behaviors.
4. Overprotection vs. Autonomous Risk-Taking
Psychological frameworks suggest that mothers naturally lean toward nurturing and protecting roles. However, the transition into manhood often requires learning how to handle calculated risk, physical boundaries, and healthy competition. Without a balanced co-parenting dynamic, a single mother may struggle to provide the exact balance of autonomy and boundary-enforcement that adolescent boys require during their peak developmental years.
Why Do Women, Wives, Moms, Mothers, Say Wait Until Your Father Comes Home? Why Won’t Women Teach Their Sons How To Be A Man/Men?
Mothers often say “Wait until your father comes home” as a traditional method of deferring discipline, establishing unified parental authority, or managing immediate exhaustion.
Why Mothers Use the Phrase
- Unified Authority: Deferring discipline can signal that rules are backed by both parents, preventing children from playing parents off one another.
- Exhaustion and Overload: Caregivers managing a full day of emotional labor may defer action to when a second adult is present to share the load.
- Cooling-Off Period: It allows heightened emotional moments to de-escalate before a consequence is administered.
Can Women Teach Boys How to Be Men?
Opinions differ on whether mothers can fully transmit masculine socialization.
- The Complementary View: Many sociologists and family advocates argue that fathers and male role models offer distinct, experiential modeling for boys (such as physical boundary-testing or specific male perspectives) that mothers cannot fully replicate.
- The Single-Mother Capability View: Conversely, researchers and community advocates emphasize that women successfully raise balanced, responsible sons every day. They point out that single mothers often instill strong values of ambition, accountability, and respect, and that male mentorship can be supplemented through extended family, uncles, and community programs.
Family and Crime Statistics
Data from the U.S. Census Bureau and Department of Justice indicate a strong correlation between father absence and negative childhood outcomes:
- Census Data: Approximately 18.3 million children (about 1 in 4) in the United States live without a biological, step, or adoptive father in the home.
- Poverty: Children in father-absent homes are nearly four times more likely to live in poverty compared to children in two-parent households.
- Juvenile Justice and Crime: Criminological research and analyses often cited alongside Department of Justice and federal reporting note that a high percentage of youths in state-operated juvenile institutions or long-term correctional facilities come from single-parent or fatherless homes (estimates range upward of 70% to 85%).
If A Woman Is In Her I’m A Boss Babe, Strong And Independent Phase or energy, Why Does She Refuse To Teach Her Son(s), How To Be A Man/Men?
The cultural concept of a woman in her “Boss Babe” or “Strong and Independent” energy centers on self-reliance, financial autonomy, career drive, and emotional resilience. When it comes to raising sons, the premise that she “refuses” to teach her son how to be a man is rarely an intentional act of defiance. Instead, modern sociologists, family psychologists, and cultural critics view this dynamic through several practical and systemic lenses.
Why a “Boss Babe” Mother Cannot “Teach” Manhood
From a developmental perspective, a mother—regardless of how capable, powerful, or independent she is—cannot model the distinct lived experience of being a man.
- The Limit of Modeling: A highly independent woman can effectively teach a boy core human values: integrity, work ethic, respect, and emotional intelligence. However, she cannot visually model male biological development, the navigation of male-dominated social dynamics, or the transition from boyhood to manhood.
- The “Map” vs. The Values: Relationship and family coaches often point out that a boy without a father or a positive male mentor does not just lose a person; he loses a developmental map. While an independent mother can supply the “rules” of life, a male role model supplies the physical blueprint of masculine behavior and restraint.
- Hyper-Independence Gaps: A woman heavily leaning into hyper-independence may unintentionally foster an environment where men are framed as obsolete or unnecessary. If a son internalizes the idea that masculine traits are inherently “toxic” or unneeded, he may struggle to form a healthy masculine identity, leading to what cultural critics label as a modern crisis of male confidence.
Global Family and Crime Statistics
When a mother raises a son completely solo—without the active presence of a father, step-father, or consistent male mentor—broader data shows distinct trends across the US, UK, and Europe. Sociologists emphasize that family structure is heavily linked to socioeconomic status, meaning the absence of a second income and lack of dual-parent supervision are primary drivers of these numbers, rather than a failure of maternal love.
1. United States Stats (FBI, OJJDP, and Census Bureau)
Data looking at the correlation between single-parent homes and youth development indicates the following:
- The Scale: According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are roughly 10.9 million single-parent households, and 80% are maintained by single mothers.
- Crime & Homicide Correlations: Data compiled by the Institute for Family Studies (analyzing urban crime patterns) found that cities and census tracts with high levels of single parenthood face 118% higher violent crime rates and 255% higher homicide rates compared to areas where two-parent families are the norm.
- Juvenile Justice & Incarceration: The Federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and independent criminal justice tracking suggest that up to 70% of long-term prison inmates, gang members, and adolescent murderers grew up in homes where the biological father was absent. Boys from single-parent families run a statistically higher risk of entering the juvenile justice system due to decreased adolescent oversight and resource strain.
2. United Kingdom Statistics (ONS & Gingerbread)
- Demographics: According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), there are roughly 3.2 million lone-parent families in the UK, making up about 16% of all families. Lone mothers account for approximately 84% to 89% of these households.
- Poverty & Resource Strain: The single-parent charity Gingerbread reports that 43% of children living in single-parent homes live in relative poverty, compared to just over 20% in coupled households.
- Behavioral & Legal Gaps: A study analyzing the UK Millennium Cohort found that while initial differences in behavioral problems appear between single-mother and two-parent homes, these gaps mostly disappear once researchers control for income, health, and parental closeness. However, the UK Ministry of Justice has previously noted that roughly 70% of young offenders in custody come from fractured or lone-parent backgrounds, driven largely by underlying systemic poverty and neighborhood risks.
3. European & International Trends
- Socioeconomic Vulnerability: Across Western and Northern Europe, Eurostat data consistently places single-parent households at the highest risk of “Arope” (At Risk of Poverty or Social Exclusion).
- Criminological Links: European studies, such as those published by behavioral scientists at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, indicate that children raised in single-parent homes show a mathematically higher risk profile for criminal behavior. Crucially, the research notes that the younger the child is when the dual-parent unit fractures, the higher the risk profile becomes—primarily because early childhood development lacks the protective buffer of dual-income resource stability.
The Sociological Consensus: Economics vs. Gender
While the cultural debate circles around whether a woman can teach a boy how to be a man, the scientific data focuses more heavily on structural vs. gendered inputs.
| Factor | Impact on Single-Mother Households |
|---|---|
| Financial Strain | Single mothers are disproportionately vulnerable to income loss, meaning less money for stable housing, extracurricular activities, and higher-tier schooling. |
| Supervision Deficit | A working “Boss Babe” mother cannot physically be in two places at once. The lack of a second adult to share the burden of monitoring adolescent boys contributes significantly to their statistical vulnerability to peer pressure. |
| Role Modeling | While a mother can cultivate an emotionally available gentleman, boys naturally seek out external male blueprints during adolescence—meaning the presence of uncles, coaches, or mentors is essential to bridge the identity gap. |
What Does The KJV Bible Say?
The strict textual framework of the King James Version (KJV) Bible and the distinct analytical perspectives requested, men and women are viewed as fundamentally equal in spiritual value and standing before God, but explicitly differentiated in their created roles, execution of authority, and functional design. The phrase “I can’t teach you how to be a man” highlights a recognition of distinct biological, psychological, and ontological roles rather than a hierarchical baseline of human worth.
Below is a detailed analysis compiled from biblical texts, psychology, theological consensus, and secular cultural commentary.
Biblical Equal Standing vs. Distinct Roles (KJV)
The KJV presents a clear theological architecture: spiritual equality in inheritance and worth combined with functional complementarianism in execution.
| Verse (KJV) | Core Theological Asset | Application to the Question |
|---|---|---|
| Genesis 1:27 | “So God created man in his own image… male and female created he them.” | Establishes absolute ontological equality; both sexes uniquely bear the divine image. |
| Galatians 3:28 | “…there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” | Establishes equal access to salvation, spiritual standing, and eternal inheritance. |
| 1 Peter 3:7 | “…giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life…” | Commands men to honor women as equal co-heirs of grace, despite physical or societal differences. |
| 1 Timothy 2:12 | “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” | Outlines a functional boundary in church governance; does not alter equal spiritual worth. |
| Proverbs 31:26 | “She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.” | Demonstrates that women possess immense teaching authority over families and communities, distinct from male training. |
10 Examples Illustrating Equal Worth with Distinct Teaching Roles
- The Biological Imperative: A woman can explain the biological markers of manhood, but cannot model internal male physiological maturity or testosterone-driven developmental changes.
- Motherhood vs. Fatherhood: A mother can teach a boy right from wrong (Proverbs 1:8), but she cannot model how a husband cherishes a wife from the experiential perspective of a man.
- The Rite of Passage: Historically, tribal communities relied exclusively on elder men to initiate boys into manhood because the transition requires separation from maternal dependence.
- The Marital Dynamic (Ephesians 5): The KJV mandates submission for wives and sacrificial love for husbands. The commands are different, but the spiritual weight and value of both positions are identical.
- The Military Call: Historically and biblically, the physical protection of the community fell upon men (Numbers 1:3). A woman recognizing this does not diminish her value; it preserves her safety.
- Ecclesiastical Office: Under strict complementarian theology, women are barred from the elder/pastor office (1 Timothy 3), but are highly valued as essential cross-generational teachers of other women (Titus 2:3-4).
- Emotional and Psychological Modeling: A woman can explain how a man should handle anger, but an older man models how to actively harness male aggression into productive discipline.
- The Mirroring Effect: A boy learns how to interact with the opposite sex by watching his father treat his mother, a dynamic a mother cannot single-handedly simulate.
- Complementary Talents: In a corporate or domestic team, a partner saying “I cannot perform your technical role” does not imply they are an inferior human being; it proves specialized specialization.
- Christ and the Church: The Bible compares marriage to Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:32). Christ and the Church are not identical in role or authority, yet the Church is elevated to the highest seat of intimacy and honor.
Analyst Reports
1. Myers-Briggs (MBTI) Personality Metrics
From a psychometric perspective, equality does not mean identity. Statistical distributions of Myers-Briggs types show distinct gender variations:
- The T/F Split: Men statistically lean heavily toward Thinking (T) traits, while women lean toward Feeling (F) traits.
- Functional Integration: An MBTI analysis shows that an individual requires an integrated understanding of both their dominant and shadow functions. A woman cannot archetypally teach a man how to process the masculine presentation of the “Thinking” dynamic when under high stress, as his stack functions operate through different societal and biological frameworks. True psychological equilibrium recognizes these disparate paths as equal but divergent journeys toward individuation.
2. John MacArthur Analyst Report (Grace to You)
John MacArthur maintains a strict biblical complementarian worldview:
- Ontological Equality: MacArthur argues forcefully that men and women are absolutely equal in their spiritual essence, value, and intelligent design.
- Functional Hierarchy: He asserts that modern confusion conflates equality of worth with sameness of function. According to MacArthur, a woman stating she cannot teach a man how to be a man is a submissive acknowledgment of God’s created order. Men must be discipled by men (2 Timothy 2:2) to lead their homes sacrificially, while women possess a distinct, equally glorious calling within the domestic and community spheres.
3. Paul Washer Analyst Report (HeartCry Missionary Society)
Paul Washer addresses the issue through the lens of biblical manhood and pastoral training:
- The Crisis of Masculinity: Washer frequently points out that the modern church suffers from a lack of true masculine leadership because men have abdicated their roles.
- The Limits of Feminine Nurture: Washer asserts that while a godly mother is one of the greatest gifts to a child, she cannot bestow masculine identity upon a young man. A boy must see manhood modeled in the flesh by sacrificial, resilient, and battle-tested men. For Washer, acknowledging this limitation does not make women unequal; it highlights the absolute necessity of the distinct roles God created to form stable families.
4. Greg Schad Analyst Report (Crossroads Counseling Group)
As a licensed marriage and family therapist and Executive Director at Crossroads Counseling Group, Greg Schad evaluates this dynamic through clinical systems theory and Christian counseling frameworks: [1, 2]
- Systemic Interdependence: Schad’s framework emphasizes that healthy relationships are built on differentiation and interdependence, not codependency or total uniformity.
- Psychological Reality: When a woman acknowledges she cannot teach a man how to be a man, she is practicing healthy boundary setting and recognizing the distinct developmental needs of the male psyche. In counseling dynamics, validating the unique emotional architectures of both sexes leads to structural harmony, showing that equality thrives when distinct human limitations and strengths are mutually respected.
5. Jordan Peterson Analyst Report
Jordan Peterson approaches this from an evolutionary, archetypal, and psychological perspective:
- The Competence Hierarchy: Peterson argues that men and women have evolved to solve different sets of complex problems. Men’s hierarchies are historically negotiated through male-to-male competition and cooperation.
- The Birth of the Hero: A woman cannot introduce a boy into the competitive framework of the male hierarchy because she is not an integrated participant in that specific evolutionary game. Peterson notes that a mother’s natural instinct is to protect, whereas a father’s role is to push the child out into the dangerous world to build competence. Therefore, recognizing that a woman cannot teach a man how to navigate the masculine archetype is simply a factual observation of biological and psychological realities—not an argument against political, legal, or moral equality.

This is a major important point about forgiveness
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. -MATTHEW 5:24 KJV
Are You Your Own Worst Enemy?
I would start out by saying what Jesus Christ would want us to do? Pray and how should we pray? The Lord’s Prayer, and how often should we pray? Continually. Why do we use the Lord’s Prayer and not some other? The Lord’s Prayer covers all the areas that is important for our spiritual being.
When we pray the Lords prayer we ask to forgive our enemies, let God’s will be done, the kingdom to come. By praying the Lord’s prayer we let go of many thoughts we have in our head and give them back to God so we can have things revealed to us.
We must overcome resentment in our heart, and in a past video I shared about Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about how resentment can destroy us and we become our own very worst enemy and Jordan goes on to say that we must talk to people what we have resentment toward to overcome that resentment. Other people who lived in the past who talked about this is Jesus Christ and someone who is living now who talks about this daily is Brother Augustine, Dr. John MacArthur, Dr. Charles Stanley, Rev. John Piper and Pastor Paul Washer.
Women are looking for a fathers love
Women are looking for a fathers love. Its important that men understand women are looking for a fathers love and not get screwed. Woman more than anything are looking for a strong spiritual man to lead the future (the family). I think in many YouTube videos on biblical teachings, how young women are being hurt by men that are just looking to get laid instead of doing right and being in Christ and setting a good example of a strong man. We must be in Christ, hate no one, love all, forgave theses we resent, love what is right and support people who are walking with God.
Women need their fathers in their lives to be strong man to be good examples and not BETA men or weak examples of what a man should be. Its important that a man leads the way as Christ leads men, we as man need to fellow Jesus Christ to keep society from going to HELL.
Every day you can see or people watch how some men and women our living in hell without the right spiritual order then you will continue your hellish way according to 2 Peter. You can also find it in Romans. God will give you over to a reprobate mind.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. – Romans 1:28 (KJV)
In Romans 1, Paul refers to something known as a reprobate mind. If you’re not familiar with the term reprobate, the literal definition in the Greek is failing to pass the test, unapproved, counterfeit.

How God Commands Us To Forgive Those Who We Have Resentment Toward.
All of us are tested everyday by our personal internal struggle coming from resentment of what happened earlier in our lives as children typically what our mother did to us, telling how our fathers were not good enough or driving us away from our fathers when we were children. We most go to the people that we have resentment against and forgive them. By forgiving our mothers or whoever we have resentment against, God will forgive us and we can return to the heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It was said if you don’t love everyone then you love no one. People today live like the Old Testament people did. We must forgive and love everyone as God Commanded us to do according to Matthew 22:34-40.

After Reading The Passage I would Recommend Doing A Silent Prayer
Its is said: Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10 King James Version (KJV)
