Researchers have developed a novel approach to “starve” cancer by using genetically modified fat cells that outcompete tumors for essential nutrients. A team led by Nadav Ahituv, PhD, at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), used CRISPR gene-editing to transform energy-storing white fat cells into energy-burning “beige” fat cells by activating the UCP1 gene. These engineered cells consume large amounts of glucose and other nutrients, effectively depriving nearby cancer cells of fuel.

In mouse models, implanting these modified fat cells slowed or shrank tumors in breast, pancreatic, prostate, and colon cancers—even when the fat cells were placed far from the tumor site. The method, called Adipocyte-Mediated Therapy (AMT), leverages the fact that fat cells can be easily removed via liposuction, modified in the lab, and safely reimplanted, making them a promising platform for cellular therapy.

Targeting Specific Cancer Diets

The strategy can be customized: researchers engineered fat cells to consume specific molecules that certain cancers depend on. For example, some pancreatic cancers rely on uridine when glucose is scarce. By programming fat cells to consume uridine, scientists successfully starved these cancer cells in lab experiments.

Overcoming Cancer’s Metabolic Flexibility

Cancer cells are metabolically flexible and often survive nutrient deprivation by switching to alternative energy sources. For instance, when glutamine is scarce, some breast cancer cells activate the PHGDH pathway to generate alpha-ketoglutarate, a key metabolite normally derived from glutamine.

At Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), Michael Lukey, PhD, and his team found that simultaneously depleting glutamine and inhibiting the PHGDH pathway stunts breast cancer growth in cells, tissue models, and mice. This dual-target approach prevents cancer cells from using their backup metabolic pathways, effectively starving them.

Role of Glutamine and the Warburg Effect

Beyond glucose, glutamine is a critical nutrient for many cancers. As highlighted by research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), cancer cells are “addicted” to glutamine for DNA synthesis and antioxidant production (e.g., glutathione). However, systemic glutamine deprivation harms normal cells, limiting therapeutic use.

The Warburg effect—where cancer cells consume large amounts of glucose even in the presence of oxygen—remains a cornerstone of cancer metabolism. PET scans exploit this by detecting glucose uptake to locate tumors.

Metabolic Dependencies and Therapeutic Strategies

Studies suggest that blocking cancer’s access to specific nutrients—while sparing normal cells—could be key. For example:

• Inhibiting glutamine transporters unique to tumor cells.
• Combining glutaminase inhibitors with immunotherapy.
• Using metformin to disrupt mitochondrial metabolism and glucose utilization via the mROS/HIF-1α axis.

Research at Princeton University, in collaboration with MSKCC and NYU, has shown that cancer cells can scavenge nutrients by engulfing neighboring cells—a survival tactic under nutrient stress.

Limitations and Future Directions

Dietary changes alone cannot effectively starve cancer. As Natasha Pavlova, PhD (MSKCC) notes, the body tightly regulates glutamine levels, and only severe trauma or sepsis lowers them—conditions not replicable through diet. Similarly, while low-glycemic diets may help manage glucose spikes, they are insufficient to halt cancer growth.

Engineered fat cell therapy is still in preclinical stages. Challenges include ensuring the safety of long-term metabolic competition and identifying which patients would benefit most.

What Does The KJV Bible Say?

Scientific research has explored ways to “starve” cancer cells of essential nutrients, such as glucose and glutamine, by using engineered cells, specific drug combinations, or nanomedicines. However, these medical studies do not mention or correlate their findings with specific King James Version (KJV) Bible verses. The idea of linking a specific scientific discovery to the KJV appears to stem from unsubstantiated online claims, not from the medical community itself. 

Scientific Findings on Cancer Starvation

Recent studies have shown promising results in laboratory and animal models by targeting the unique metabolism of cancer cells: 

• Engineered Fat Cells: Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) have engineered white fat cells into “beige” fat cells, which aggressively consume nutrients like glucose and fatty acids. When implanted into mice, these engineered cells competed with tumors for nutrients, effectively slowing tumor growth.
• Glutamine Blockers: Vanderbilt University Medical Center researchers discovered a small compound that blocks the uptake of the vital nutrient glutamine, demonstrating it is possible to starve a tumor and stop its growth.
• Dual-Deprivation Nanomedicine: A study published in Advanced Science in 2021 detailed a nanomedicine that simultaneously depletes glucose and blocks lactate influx, leading to enhanced cancer cell death in mice by a synergistic effect and increased toxic H₂O₂ levels.
• Dietary Restrictions (Preclinical): Some preclinical models have shown that a ketogenic (high-fat, low-carbohydrate) diet can inhibit tumor growth by reducing glucose and insulin levels, which are important drivers of cancer cell proliferation. However, some studies also warn that simple glucose restriction might inadvertently promote metastasis in certain cases, highlighting the complexity and the need for more research before clinical application. 

KJV Verses and Medical Advice

The Bible offers verses related to healing, strength, and faith, which many people find comforting during illness. However, it does not provide specific medical instructions or a “cure” for cancer based on the scientific methods mentioned above. Medical professionals warn against claims that the Bible or specific diets alone can cure cancer, as cancer cells are highly adaptable and can switch to alternative fuel sources if one is deprived. 

Below are some KJV verses often cited for comfort and healing, but with no scientific link to the medical studies on starving cancer:

Are You Your Own Worst Enemy?

I would start out by saying what Jesus Christ would want us to do? Pray and how should we pray? The Lord’s Prayer, and how often should we pray? Continually. Why do we use the Lord’s Prayer and not some other? The Lord’s Prayer covers all the areas that is important for our spiritual being.

When we pray the Lords prayer we ask to forgive our enemies, let God’s will be done, the kingdom to come. By praying the Lord’s prayer we let go of many thoughts we have in our head and give them back to God so we can have things revealed to us.

We must overcome resentment in our heart, and in a past video I shared about Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about how resentment can destroy us and we become our own very worst enemy and Jordan goes on to say that we must talk to people what we have resentment toward to overcome that resentment. Other people who lived in the past who talked about this is Jesus Christ and someone who is living now who talks about this daily is Brother Augustine, Dr. John MacArthur, Dr. Charles Stanley, Rev. John Piper and Pastor Paul Washer.

Women are looking for a fathers love

Women are looking for a fathers love. Its important that men understand women are looking for a fathers love and not get screwed. Woman more than anything are looking for a strong spiritual man to lead the future (the family). I think in many YouTube videos on biblical teachings, how young women are being hurt by men that are just looking to get laid instead of doing right and being in Christ and setting a good example of a strong man. We must be in Christ, hate no one, love all, forgave theses we resent, love what is right and support people who are walking with God.

Women need their fathers in their lives to be strong man to be good examples and not BETA men or weak examples of what a man should be. Its important that a man leads the way as Christ leads men, we as man need to fellow Jesus Christ to keep society from going to HELL.

Every day you can see or people watch how some men and women our living in hell without the right spiritual order then you will continue your hellish way according to 2 Peter. You can also find it in Romans. God will give you over to a reprobate mind.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. – Romans 1:28 (KJV)

In Romans 1, Paul refers to something known as a reprobate mind. If you’re not familiar with the term reprobate, the literal definition in the Greek is failing to pass the test, unapproved, counterfeit.

How God Commands Us To Forgive Those Who We Have Resentment Toward.

All of us are tested everyday by our personal internal struggle coming from resentment of what happened earlier in our lives as children typically what our mother did to us, telling how our fathers were not good enough or driving us away from our fathers when we were children. We most go to the people that we have resentment against and forgive them. By forgiving our mothers or whoever we have resentment against, God will forgive us and we can return to the heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It was said if you don’t love everyone then you love no one. People today live like the Old Testament people did. We must forgive and love everyone as God Commanded us to do according to Matthew 22:34-40.
