Was Society Better When Women Called Each Other Out?
In the 19th and early 20th centuries, women often wielded moral authority within their communities despite lacking formal political power. This influence was particularly evident in movements like the temperance movement, which led to Prohibition in the United States. Women were seen as moral guardians of society, and their collective voice could shape public behavior and policy.
This moral authority extended to regulating social conduct among women, including policing sexual behavior. The idea that women would “call each other out” for deviating from societal norms—such as engaging in premarital sex or promiscuity—was part of a broader system of social reinforcement designed to maintain stability in marriage and family structures. Under coverture laws, women had certain protections, such as exemption from debt liability and rights to inherited property, which were tied to the legal framework of marriage.
The Concept of ‘Calling Out’ in Historical Perspective
The phrase “women calling each other out” refers to the informal but powerful social mechanisms through which women enforced behavioral norms among peers. In pre-feminist societies, older women often admonished younger ones for actions perceived as undermining collective interests—such as devaluing marriage by engaging in casual sex. This was framed as protecting the “deal” that secured men’s financial and legal responsibilities toward women and children.
For example, women who engaged in what was then considered immoral behavior might face social shaming or ostracism—what some describe as a “scarlet letter” effect. This form of peer enforcement was seen by some as a way to ensure that men remained committed to long-term relationships, thus supporting a more stable social order.
However, this system also reinforced patriarchal structures and could be deeply punitive, especially toward women who deviated due to personal hardship or lack of alternatives.
Modern Shifts in Gender Dynamics and Social Norms
The sexual revolution, the advent of hormonal birth control, and the feminist movement fundamentally altered the landscape. Women gained greater autonomy over their bodies and lives, including access to education, employment, and reproductive rights. As a result, traditional mechanisms of social control—like peer-enforced sexual morality—diminished.
Some argue that this shift weakened a form of female solidarity that once protected collective interests. Others counter that it liberated women from oppressive double standards and allowed for personal freedom and equality. The decline of moral policing is linked to broader gains in women’s rights, such as voting, property ownership, and legal personhood.
Today, while women still critique each other’s choices—especially around issues like motherhood, career, or relationships—the context is vastly different. There is no centralized moral authority, and diversity of lifestyle is more widely accepted.
Impact of Technology and Media on Social Reinforcement
Modern technology, particularly social media, has transformed how social norms are reinforced. Unlike the localized, community-based judgment of the past, today’s social environment is global and hyper-competitive. Platforms expose individuals to idealized images of beauty, success, and romance, often leading to unrealistic expectations.
Some commentators suggest that social media enables a new kind of “calling out,” but it is often public, performative, and fragmented. Rather than reinforcing stable norms, it can promote comparison, insecurity, and hypergamy—where women may pursue high-status men at the expense of forming lasting relationships with more attainable partners.
Additionally, the globalized sexual marketplace means that women (and men) compare themselves to celebrities and influencers, disrupting traditional mating patterns. This, some argue, contributes to social instability, declining marriage rates, and loneliness.
What Does The KJV Bible Say?
The King James Version (KJV) Bible emphasizes a universal Christian duty for believers—both men and women—to practice mutual accountability and loving correction within the church, but discourages public quarreling or a “contentious” spirit. The KJV does not directly address the societal impact of women “calling each other out” in a modern sense, but it provides principles for constructive admonishment.
Biblical Principles on Admonishment and Conflict
The Bible consistently promotes peace, love, and order in all relationships, including among women.
| Principle | Description | Relevant KJV Verse(s) |
|---|---|---|
| Mutual Accountability | Believers are encouraged to correct one another in love when a sin is present. | Galatians 6:1; Matthew 18:15-17 |
| Teaching Good Things | Older women are specifically instructed to teach and train younger women in godly behavior. | Titus 2:3-5 |
| Avoiding Contentiousness | A quarrelsome or angry person is consistently spoken of negatively in favor of a gentle spirit. | Proverbs 21:9, 19; Proverbs 27:15 |
| Pursuing Peace | Believers should strive for peace and harmony, avoiding behaviors that cause division or disorder. | Romans 12:18; 1 Corinthians 14:33 |
| Love as the Core | All interactions, including correction, should be motivated by love and kindness, not pride or anger. | 1 Corinthians 13:4-5; Colossians 3:13 |
Interpretation
- Constructive Correction vs. “Calling Out”: The biblical model for dealing with sin or conflict is a private, loving approach aimed at restoration, not public shaming or a “call out” culture often associated with social media.
- Role of Women: The KJV passages like Titus 2:3-5 lay out a clear framework for women to mentor and guide one another. This involves older women teaching younger women good things, which implies a level of oversight and correction within appropriate boundaries.
- Unity Over Division: The Apostle Paul even publicly called out a disagreement between two women (Euodia and Syntyche) in his letter to the Philippians, asking the church to help them be “of the same mind in the Lord,” demonstrating a concern for unity over “papering over” problems.
In conclusion, the KJV Bible does not support the idea that society is “better” when women publicly shame each other. Instead, it promotes a healthy community where women can, and should, offer loving, private correction and teaching to foster godliness and peace within the church and society.

This is a major important point about forgiveness
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. -MATTHEW 5:24 KJV
Are You Your Own Worst Enemy?
I would start out by saying what Jesus Christ would want us to do? Pray and how should we pray? The Lord’s Prayer, and how often should we pray? Continually. Why do we use the Lord’s Prayer and not some other? The Lord’s Prayer covers all the areas that is important for our spiritual being.
When we pray the Lords prayer we ask to forgive our enemies, let God’s will be done, the kingdom to come. By praying the Lord’s prayer we let go of many thoughts we have in our head and give them back to God so we can have things revealed to us.
We must overcome resentment in our heart, and in a past video I shared about Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about how resentment can destroy us and we become our own very worst enemy and Jordan goes on to say that we must talk to people what we have resentment toward to overcome that resentment. Other people who lived in the past who talked about this is Jesus Christ and someone who is living now who talks about this daily is Brother Augustine, Dr. John MacArthur, Dr. Charles Stanley, Rev. John Piper and Pastor Paul Washer.
Women are looking for a fathers love
Women are looking for a fathers love. Its important that men understand women are looking for a fathers love and not get screwed. Woman more than anything are looking for a strong spiritual man to lead the future (the family). I think in many YouTube videos on biblical teachings, how young women are being hurt by men that are just looking to get laid instead of doing right and being in Christ and setting a good example of a strong man. We must be in Christ, hate no one, love all, forgave theses we resent, love what is right and support people who are walking with God.
Women need their fathers in their lives to be strong man to be good examples and not BETA men or weak examples of what a man should be. Its important that a man leads the way as Christ leads men, we as man need to fellow Jesus Christ to keep society from going to HELL.
Every day you can see or people watch how some men and women our living in hell without the right spiritual order then you will continue your hellish way according to 2 Peter. You can also find it in Romans. God will give you over to a reprobate mind.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. – Romans 1:28 (KJV)
In Romans 1, Paul refers to something known as a reprobate mind. If you’re not familiar with the term reprobate, the literal definition in the Greek is failing to pass the test, unapproved, counterfeit.

How God Commands Us To Forgive Those Who We Have Resentment Toward.
All of us are tested everyday by our personal internal struggle coming from resentment of what happened earlier in our lives as children typically what our mother did to us, telling how our fathers were not good enough or driving us away from our fathers when we were children. We most go to the people that we have resentment against and forgive them. By forgiving our mothers or whoever we have resentment against, God will forgive us and we can return to the heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It was said if you don’t love everyone then you love no one. People today live like the Old Testament people did. We must forgive and love everyone as God Commanded us to do according to Matthew 22:34-40.
After Reading The Passage I would Recommend Doing A Silent Prayer
Its is said: Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10 King James Version (KJV)

In a world where it is so easy to forget the importance of God, we must remember that He is holy and will not share His glory. America has forgotten this truth and it is time for us to re-examine our relationship with God and recognize that He is the one true God who deserves our full devotion and reverence. We must remember that He will not be taken lightly or ignored, but rather should be honored as the Creator of all things. Only then can we truly experience His love and grace in our lives.
