The Christmas Story

The Christmas Story

The Christmas story unfolds beautifully in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke in the King James Bible. Here’s a summary highlighting the key events:

Matthew:

  • Announcement to Joseph: An angel appears to Joseph in a dream, revealing Mary’s pregnancy and assuring him the child is conceived by the Holy Spirit.
  • Journey to Bethlehem: Joseph takes Mary to Bethlehem to register for the Roman census, fulfilling an ancient prophecy.
  • Birth of Jesus: Jesus is born in a humble stable, laid in a manger. Angels announce the birth to shepherds in the fields.
  • Visit of the Magi: Wise men from the East, guided by a star, arrive in Bethlehem bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
  • Flight to Egypt: Fearing King Herod’s murderous intentions, Joseph flees with Mary and Jesus to Egypt, fulfilling another prophecy.

Luke:

  • Annunciation to Mary: The angel Gabriel appears to Mary, announcing she will conceive and bear a son, the Son of God, to be named Jesus.
  • Visitation: Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth, who is pregnant with John the Baptist. Both babies leap in their mothers’ wombs upon meeting.
  • Birth of John the Baptist: John the Baptist is born, preparing the way for Jesus’ arrival.
  • Birth of Jesus: Similar to Matthew, Luke describes the birth in Bethlehem, the angelic announcement to the shepherds, and the visit of the Wise Men.
  • Presentation in the Temple: Jesus is presented at the Temple in Jerusalem forty days after his birth, fulfilling Jewish tradition.

Themes and Key Points:

  • Fulfillment of prophecy: The Christmas story plays out like a tapestry woven with threads of Old Testament prophecies, demonstrating God’s faithfulness and plan for redemption.
  • Humility and divinity: Jesus, the Son of God, chooses a humble birth in a stable, emphasizing his identification with humanity yet highlighting his divine nature.
  • Significance of love and grace: The birth of Jesus embodies God’s love for humanity, offering grace and salvation to the world.
  • Universal message: The Christmas story transcends time and culture, resonating with anyone seeking hope, love, and redemption.

For a deeper understanding, reading the full accounts in the King James Bible provides rich details and poetic language that bring the story to life.

The Christmas Story According To Saint John In The Book Of John

The traditional Christmas story, focusing on the Nativity, isn’t explicitly told in the Gospel of John. John takes a different approach, emphasizing Jesus’ divine nature and pre-existence instead of the details of his birth. However, several verses in John’s Gospel offer key insights into the significance of Jesus’ coming:

1. Word Made Flesh: The most crucial passage is John 1:14: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” Here, John proclaims Jesus as the Word, pre-existing with God and being God himself. This Word, the divine source of creation, takes on human form and dwells among us, revealing God’s glory and offering his grace and truth to the world.

2. Light of the World: John 1:4-5 states: “In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John presents Jesus as the source of life and light, illuminating the world even though darkness cannot grasp its significance. This metaphor underlines Jesus’ role as the bringer of hope and understanding into a world shrouded in sin and confusion.

3. Lamb of God: John 1:29: “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” John identifies Jesus as the sacrificial lamb, fulfilling the prophesied role of bearing the burden of humanity’s sin. This highlights Jesus’ mission to redeem and offer new life through his sacrifice.

4. Witness and the Way: Throughout John’s Gospel, Jesus speaks of himself as the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). He is the path to God, the revelation of truth, and the source of eternal life. John himself acts as a witness, pointing others towards Jesus and his power to transform lives.

Overall: While John’s Gospel doesn’t narrate the traditional Nativity story, it offers a profound theological perspective on Christmas. John focuses on Jesus’ pre-existence, his divine nature, his role as the light and life of the world, and his ultimate sacrifice as the Lamb of God. This rich tapestry emphasizes the true meaning of Christmas – the arrival of God’s divine love into the world, offering hope, redemption, and everlasting life.

Traditional Nativity Story

In the hushed heart of Judea, beneath a sky pregnant with starlight, Mary nestled a newborn babe in a cradle of straw. The stable, reeking of hay and warm breath, was an unlikely palace for a king, yet Mary held her son with a reverence that outshone any gilded throne. Joseph, his face etched with lines of love and worry, stood guard, a shield against the encroaching night.

Weeks before, an angel had whispered of this destiny, of a child conceived not of man but of the Holy Spirit. A child who would bear the weight of hope on his tiny shoulders, the promised Messiah sent to heal the world’s weary heart. Joseph, a man of unshakable faith, had embraced the impossible, becoming protector and father to this miraculous gift.

Their journey to Bethlehem had been arduous, the pregnant Mary riding atop a donkey while Joseph trudged beside, his eyes scanning the horizon for danger. The census decree hung heavy, forcing them from their Nazareth home into the unfamiliar land of their ancestors. But even this hardship couldn’t dim the radiant wonder blooming in Mary’s heart.

In Bethlehem, the inns overflowed with weary travelers, leaving only the refuge of a stable for their holy arrival. Yet, as Mary nestled her newborn son, the rough walls seemed to melt away, replaced by a canvas of celestial light. Angels, their voices sweet hymns in the night, proclaimed the birth of the Prince of Peace to the astonished shepherds tending their flocks nearby.

Drawn by the ethereal music and whispers of wonder, the shepherds stumbled into the stable, their eyes widening at the sight of the child. In his tiny form, they saw not just a babe, but a beacon of hope, a promise etched in starlight. Their simple hearts overflowed with joy, and they spread the tale like wildfire, the news of the Messiah dancing on the wind across the rolling hills.

Meanwhile, in the East, wise men, guided by a flaming star, followed the celestial map to Bethlehem. Laden with gifts befitting a king – gold for his divinity, frankincense for his purity, and myrrh for his sacrifice – they knelt before the humble manger, their hearts overflowing with reverence.

In that stable, amidst the lowing of cattle and the scent of straw, humanity and divinity intertwined. A simple birth in a forgotten corner of the world sparked a flame that would forever alter the course of history. For in the eyes of that newborn babe, nestled in a cradle of straw, shone the promise of a brighter dawn, a world touched by the grace of a child named Jesus.

This is just a glimpse into the traditional Nativity story, a tapestry woven with faith, hope, and the profound mystery of a miraculous birth. Each retelling adds its own thread, its own brushstroke, reminding us that even in the humblest of settings, the most extraordinary light can shine.

May the spirit of this timeless story fill your heart with joy and peace, this Christmas and evermore.

This is a major important point about forgiveness

Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. -MATTHEW 5:24 KJV

Are You Your Own Worst Enemy?

I would start out by saying what Jesus Christ would want us to do? Pray and how should we pray? The Lord’s Prayer, and how often should we pray? Continually. Why do we use the Lord’s Prayer and not some other? The Lord’s Prayer covers all the areas that is important for our spiritual being.

When we pray the Lords prayer we ask to forgive our enemies, let God’s will be done, the kingdom to come. By praying the Lord’s prayer we let go of many thoughts we have in our head and give them back to God so we can have things revealed to us.

We must overcome resentment in our heart, and in a past video I shared about Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about how resentment can destroy us and we become our own very worst enemy and Jordan goes on to say that we must talk to people what we have resentment toward to overcome that resentment. Other people who lived in the past who talked about this is Jesus Christ and someone who is living now who talks about this daily is Brother Augustine, Dr. John MacArthur, Dr. Charles Stanley, Rev. John Piper and Pastor Paul Washer.

Women are looking for a fathers love

Women are looking for a fathers love. Its important that men understand women are looking for a fathers love and not get screwed. Woman more than anything are looking for a strong spiritual man to lead the future (the family). I think in many YouTube videos on biblical teachings, how young women are being hurt by men that are just looking to get laid instead of doing right and being in christ and setting a good example of a strong man. We must be in Christ, hate no one, love all, forgave thoses we resent, love what is right and support people who are walking with God.

Women need their fathers in their lives to be strong man to be good examples and not BETA men or weak examples of what a man should be. Its important that a man leads the way as Christ leads men, we as man need to fellow Jesus Christ to keep society from going to HELL.

Every day you can see or people watch how some men and women our living in hell without the right spiritual order then you will continue your hellish way according to 2 Peter. You can also find it in Romans. God will give you over to a reprobate mind.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. – Romans 1:28 (KJV)

In Romans 1, Paul refers to something known as a reprobate mind. If you’re not familiar with the term reprobate, the literal definition in the Greek is failing to pass the test, unapproved, counterfeit.

How God Commands Us To Forgive Those Who We Have Resentment Toward.

All of us are tested everyday by our personal internal struggle coming from resentment of what happened earlier in our lives as children typically what our mother did to us, telling how our fathers were not good enough or driving us away from our fathers when we were children. We most go to the people that we have resentment against and forgive them. By forgiving our mothers or whoever we have resentment against, God will forgive us and we can return to the heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

It was said if you don’t love everyone then you love no one. People today live like the Old Testament people did. We must forgive and love everyone as God Commanded us to do according to Matthew 22:34-40.

In a world where it is so easy to forget the importance of God, we must remember that He is holy and will not share His glory. America has forgotten this truth and it is time for us to re-examine our relationship with God and recognize that He is the one true God who deserves our full devotion and reverence. We must remember that He will not be taken lightly or ignored, but rather should be honored as the Creator of all things. Only then can we truly experience His love and grace in our lives.
